Ella Mae Carson, 82, of Mt. Vernon died 2:35 p.m. March 10, 2005, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Carson was born June 22, 1922, in Mt. Vernon to George and Nancy E. (Ward) Cash.

She married Harvey E. Carson May 5, 1965, in Fairbanks, Alaska; he survives.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dale Eadie will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. No public visitation will be held.

Mrs. Carson is survived by her husband, Harvey E. Carson of Mt. Vernon, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Becky Johnson; three brothers; and a sister.

Mrs. Carson was a member of the Methodist faith. She worked as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and in a senior citizen home in Fairbanks, Alaska.
