Harry Chambliss

Harry Chambliss, 78, of route 1, Bluford, died at 6:51 p.m. Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, where the body will lie in state after 6 p.m. today.

Mr. Chambliss, a retired farmer, was born in Jefferson county Nov. 24, 1892, the son of Joseph James and Laura (Pulliam) Chambliss.

He was married to the former Bessie Coleman, who died in 1951.

A World War 1 veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post 141.

Surviving relatives include one son, Joseph James Chambliss of Kendall Park, N.J.; two daughters, Mrs. Priscilla Tudor of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Patricia Brown of Oxnard, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Etta Stonecipher; and five grandchildren."
