Mary Catherine Chambliss, 94, of Bluford died 11:10 a.m. March 5, 2005, at Way-Fair Restorium in Fairfield. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Chambliss was born Oct. 11, 1910, in Bluford to John and Mary (Jackson) Ritchie.

She first married Edgar Byars; he perceded her in death in 1948.

She later married Willis Chambliss; he perceded her in death in 1964.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City. The Rev. Spence Meagher will officiate. Burial will follow at Garrison Temple Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.

Mrs. Chambliss is survived by sons Glen Dale Byars and wife Shirley of Geff and Bill Byars and wife Judy of Bluford; daughters JoAnn Wolfe of Granger, Ind., and Joyce Scarbrough and husband Larry of Keenes; two stepdaughters, Wilma Jackson of Florida and Mardela Dycus of Mt. Vernon; 10 grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two grandchildren and three stepchildren. Mrs. Chambliss was a member of East Hickory Hill Church and also attended Keenes Baptist Church. For more information you may contact Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City at 895-2121."
