Mrs. Dora M. Chastain, of RFD 6, Mt. Vernon, died at 2:30 pm Sunday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, at the age of 76 years, five months and 19 days. She had been in serious condition several weeks.

Mrs. Chastain was the widow of George E. Chastain, who died February 21, 1940.

She was born July 11, 1875, the daughter of John and Sarah (Brookman) Stonecipher.

She was a member of the Hopewell Methodist Church, at which place the funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm, conducted by the Rev. Joseph Harris of Mt. Vernon. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Roy of Mt. Vernon and one daughter, Audra Chastain, Mt. Vernon.

The body will lie in state at the home of the son near Hopewell.
