Gwendolyn Clemens, 85, of Mt. Vernon died 8:05 pm May 7, 2001, at the home of her son Jerry Clemens.

She was employed for several years at the Mt. Vernon Township High School cafeteria.

Mrs. Clemens was born Nov. 12, 1915, in Jefferson County to Samuel Clyde and Lottie L. (Hughey) Joy.

She married Roy H. Clemens April 7, 1936, in Morris; he died Sept. 1, 1979.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Russell.
