He was born in Crittenden County, KY, November 5th, 1852. If he had lived until the 5th of November, he would have been 80 years of age. His father, William Barnett CLINTON, moved from Crittenden County, to a site one and a half miles northwest of Ina when Mr. CLINTON was two years of age, and he had lived there with his father until he was married to Malinda PUCKETT, November 7, 1872. Mr. CLINTON was a minister of the Gospel and belonged to the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and took great interest in the work of the church. In the years of his active life he worked zealously for the church and enjoyed the love and respect of all who knew him. He suffered greatly in the long and weary months in which he was confined to his bed but was ever cheerful.

He was given all care and consideration by his wife and children that love can lavish. Rev. CLINTON possessed great talent in speaking and singing, and had a good delivery.
