Note: This is the obituary of Myrtle (RICE) COCHRAN, wife of John Henry Thomas COCHRAN. Mrs. Myrtle Ellen COCHRAN, 77, of 305 Caborn Street, died Thursday at Marion Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for a month. She was the widow of John Henry COCHRAN. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Myers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Marsh HARPOLE officiating. Burial will be at the Pace Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. COCHRAN was born 14 October 1887 in Jefferson County, the daughter of William and Martha Jane RICE. She was married 21 July 1913. Her husband died 05 January 1949. (1948) Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Kathryn FARTHING of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Helen THOMPSON of Marion and Mrs. Dorothy CHAPMAN of Carbondale; one brother Walter RICE and a sister, Mrs. May DODSON, both of Mt. Vernon; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
