Jimmie D. Cockrum
Jimmie D. Cockrum, 62, of Summerfield, Fla., and formerly of Aurora passed away Nov. 29, 2004. He was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Ina. He was a member of the Ina Grade School class of 1956 and Mt. Vernon Township High School class of 1960. He was employed by Caterpillar in Aurora for over 30 years. After his retirement, he achieved his lifelong dream of moving to Florida and building his dream house. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Worby of Streator; her mother, Linda Schroeder of Warrenville; a son, Daryl Skinner of Norfolk, Va.; his mother, Lori A. Cockrum of Aurora; three grandchildren, Joseph Cichorz of Chicago Heights and Stephanie and Brittany Worby of Streator; two nieces, Kelly Lee of Plano and Jennifer Lee of Arizona; and his special friend, Fran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Nelma Cockrum; and a brother, Roy Lowell Cockrum. Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, with the Rev. Brad Ryan officiating. Those attending the service on Friday are requested to meet at the cemetery.
