*PEORIA *- Doris Maxine Coffin, age 84, of Peoria passed away at 10:12 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at her residence with her son at her side.

She was born on Feb. 16, 1925, in Jefferson County, Ill., the daughter of Claude and Lela Richards Arnold.

Doris married Howard G. Coffin on Oct. 12, 1946, in Bonnie, Ill. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2009.

Doris was employed by the State Hospital in Bartonville and later by the State of Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services as a coordinator until her retirement.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Doris is survived by her son, Stanley Coffin of Peoria; her brothers, Dean (Nancy) Arnold of Bartonville and Wayne (Aileen) Arnold of Mount Vernon, Ill.; her sister, Deanna (Bob) Johnston of Whittington, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation will be accorded.

Doris' family will be receiving friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Cubb Cemetery in Jefferson County, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Hospice Services, 415 St. Mark Court, Peoria, IL 61603.
