Mersey E. (Hilliard) Cohlmeyer
Aged Resident of Dix Died Yesterday; Be Buried Tomorrow Mrs. Mersey E. Cohlmeyer of Dix, died Wednesday afternoon at 4:10 o'clock. Mrs. Cohlmeyer was 78 years old July 15, last. She was the widow of Wm. H. Cohlmeyer, who died several years ago. Mrs. Cohlmeyer before marriage was Miss Mersey E. Hilliard, and her life since that time had been spent in Illinois. The father died in 1873 and the mother in 1896. In 1876 she was united in marriage with Wm. H. Cohlmeyer, and four children were born to their union, two of whom preceded the mother in death. The surviving children are Mrs. Walter Riley, Dix, at whose home she died, and Mrs. Frank Threatt, of Dix. Twelve grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive. Mrs. Cohlmeyer is survived by one brother, George Hilliard of Bellingham, Wash., and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Reed, Mrs. Lillie Stonecipher, and Mrs. Maggie Crowder, the last named, of Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Cohlmeyer was a faithful and consecrated member of the Dix M. E. Church, having united with the church early in life. Funeral services will be held at the Riley home in Dix at 12 o'clock Friday, after which the body will be taken to Hopewell where services will be held about 2:30 p.m.
