Ira E. Cole

Ira E. COLE, died at his home on Lee avenue about 7 o'clock this morning, of pneumonia, after an illness of a couple months duration.

Deceased was born in this county near Spring Garden, May 30th, 1850, consequently was but a few weeks less than forty-eight years of age.

Mr.Cole had been living here since 1886, but previous to that time had resided in Benton and vicinity.

He was the step-father of Judge R. M. Farthing and leaves a wife and two sons to mourn his death.

Mr. Cole was a member of the Christian church and at one time was an active member of the Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias lodges, but was not connected with either of these orders at the time of his death.

Of the two sons left by the deceased, Hughey, the younger is aged nine years. Harry, the older son is by a former marriage and is fourteen years of age.

Deceased was first married to a daughter of W. A. Simpson of Benton, who died a few years afterwards.

Subsequently he was married to Mrs. Mary A. Farthing, widow of John W. Farthing, who still survives.

The burial will take place tomorrow at Hickory Hill at 12 o'clock. The funeral party will will leave the late home of the deceased on Lee avenue at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning for the place of interment.
