Lyman COLEMAN, familiarly known as "Doc" died at his home on East Harrison street at 9 o'clock this morning, aged 65 years, after an illness of nearly three months.

Deceased was born in the state of New York where he resided till the breaking out of the Rebellion when he enlisted in Company K, 2nd Regiment New York Artillery. A short time after the close of the hostilities, he came to Illinois and settled in Jefferson county and has lived here ever since.

He was married before entering the army to a lady of his native state, but the alliance was an unhappy one and Mr. Coleman secured a divorce and came west to begin life anew.

One the 24th of last December he fell on the icy pavement and sustained a serious injury to one of his hips, from the effects of which he never recovered. Since the unfortunate accident of three months ago he has never been able to leave the house and his death was due more to exhaustion brought about by lack of exercise rather than to any well defined disease.

He leaves a wife and a son in New York whom he has not seen for many years.

He was a member of the local Post G.A.R. and his funeral will be conducted under their auspices tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be at Oakwood.
