Claude Carroll Collier
Claude Carroll Collier, 69, a resident of Jackson, formerly of Mississippi County, died at 11:33 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 6, 1932, in Mt. Vernon, Ill., to the late Esco and Corona Glaus Collier. He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life moving to Jackson in 1980. He had been employed as a salesman until his retirement and recently had begun working with Clark Construction Company in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston. On May 27, 1955, he married Linda Kellett who survives of the home. Other survivors are one son, Kevin Collier of Dexter; two daughters, Jill Collier Burton of Charleston and Jennifer Collier Hipp of St. Louis County; two sisters, Patricia Ann Seib of Poplar Bluff and Willa Jean Mattix of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren. One infant brother preceded him in death. Visitation was held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, with Pat Hogan, minister of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston, officiating.
