Eva Lena (Cochran) Collins
Mrs. Eva Lena COLLINS, wife of William J. COLLINS, died at 10:30 a.m. today at her home, 1021 Welkins Street at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 21 days. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Bird GREEN and the Rev. R. B. GUTHRIE, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The body will remain at Myers Chapel until 3 p.m. Tuesday, then will be taken to the home. It will be returned to the chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. COLLINS was born May 2, 1877 in Spring Garden Township, Jefferson County, the daughter of Rush and Annie CRAWFORD Cochran. On July 1, 1901 she was united in marriage with William J. COLLINS, who survives. She was a member of the auxiliary of Eben Swift Post, Spanish-American War veterans. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Lawrence, James and Gilbert, all of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Mrs. Bertha PEARSON, of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Burrell COCHRAN of Bloomington; three half-brothers, Charley and Frank COCHRAN of Bloomington and Jesse COCHRAN of West Frankfort; two sisters, Eunice WHITE and Mrs. Nannie CREMEENS, of Mt. Vernon; two half-sisters, Mrs. Vivian FICKEL of Ina and Mrs. Cecil MANIS of Ewing; and three grandchildren.
