Margaret CONNER, 90, of Carrier Mills died 3:55 p.m. May 12, 2006, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

She was born in Whittington on March 12, 1916, a daughter of Luther and Dessie (STARKS) STRAIN.

On Jan. 28, 1933, in Whittington, she married Willis "Pete" CONNER; he preceded her in death Aug. 28, 1978.

Mrs. CONNER had been a resident of Carrier Mills for 27 years, residing with her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bob BRANNOCK.

Mrs. CONNER was a faithful member of the Harvest Deliverance Center in Harrisburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara BRANNOCK and husband Bob of Carrier Mills and Linda HURLEY and husband Bill of Wilmington; a son, Darwin CONNER and wife Charlotte of Fairbury; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Howard CONNER of Ina and Paul CONNER and wife Helen of Gainesville, Fla.; and two sisters-in-law,Mary ADAMS and husband Walter of Bonnie and Vada STRAIN of Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. CONNER was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Margaret Ann; and two brothers, Charles and James STRAIN.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, with the Rev. Ownly WILLIAMS officiating. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. CONNER's memory may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Inc.
