Eliza (Clinton) Cook

Mrs. Eliza COOK, better known as "Aunt Sis" died at her home a half mile north of Ina about 1 p.m. Sunday after several weeks illness.

Her maiden name was Clinton, she being the daughter of W.B. and Rebecca Clinton, old time residents of this community.

Mrs. Cook was born a short distance northwest of Ina November 10, 1859 and was 82 years, three months and 12 days of age.

She was married to John Cook in 1873. He died twelve years ago, and one daughter Mrs. Vinna Williams died 22 years ago.

She is survived by the following children: Nubern Cook, Mrs. Nona Newell and Ray Cook, all of Ina, and Mrs. Alta Hayse of Salem. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; one brother, J.B. Clinton of Ina, and one sister, Mrs. Lee Book of Mt. Vernon.

She has been a member of the Ina C.P. Church for over 40 years.

Funeral was held at the Ina C.P. Church at 2 p.m. Monday with services in charge Rev. W.R. Burton of Whittington. Burial followed at Kirk cemetery.
