John Cook

John COOK, one of the good citizens of this community, died about 5:30 Wednesday morning.

Mr. Cook was 75 years old and is survived by his widow, two sons and two daughters as follows: Nubern Cook, Ray Cook and Mrs. N.N. Newell, residing here, and Mrs. Wesley Hayse of Salem. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, two sisters Harriet Wilson, Elvira Oliver, and one brother George Cook.

Mr. Cook was born and reared here and spent his entire life in this community. He has always been robust and healthy, never calling for the services of a physician until his present illness. His illness was due to an attack of influenza from which he suffered a relapse a few days ago.

Mr. Cook was a good neighbor, kind hearted and generous, He always had a kind word for his friends, and was always ready to forgive an enemy. Mr. Cook resided on his little farm just north of Ina and was a familiar figure on our streets, where he loved to meet and chat with his friends and was always ready to encourage them in every worthy undertaking and symathize with those in trouble. He was a great friend of the children of the community and they respected and loved him.

This kind hearted friend and neighbor will be greatly missed by the entire community. The funeral was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
