Mt. V. Woman Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. Fern Hayes Cook of 305 South 11th street died at 10:25pm yesterday at Good Samaritan hospital after a long illness.

She was born June 26, 1905 the daughter of Hiram and Wilda (Fults) Hayes and was married 17 years ago February 2nd to Ray Cook.

Surviving are a daughter Cuma Cook, her mother, four brothers, Green, Ira, and Marion of Mt. Vernon, and Vernie, four sisters Mrs. Belle Phelps, Mrs. Bessie Coriell of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Clara Alexander of Belleville, Mrs. Nell Wilson of Jacksonville.

Funeral services will be held from the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, Friday at 2pm and interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home.
