John S. Cook
March 21, 1898 Mr. John S. COOK, father of Rev. S. A. COOK, pastor of the Christian Church of this city, died at the home of his son in McKenzie, Tenn., on yesterday. Rev. COOK received a telegram to that effect this forenoon. The funeral occurred this afternoon. For some time past the old gentleman had made his home with his children and will be remembered by many of our citizens as having resided here about one year with Rev. COOK. March 31, 1898 Miss Bertha COOK, of Tiffin, O., arrived here last night from Tennessee where she had been to attend the obsequies of her father, and will remain here several days visiting her brother, Rev. S. A. COOK, pastor of the Christian Church. Miss COOK went to McLeansboro this morning to spend the day with her brother, A. R. COOK, but will return here tonight. ***Note:
