OBITUARY:
The Mt. Vernon Register published the following on Friday, July 11, 1952 which read:

Mrs. Nora Lucredia Cowger of RFD 4, Mt. Vernon died at 1:50 a.m. today at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past week. She was 71 years and 22 days of age.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Lebanon Baptist Church and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Cowger was born June 19, 1881 in Tamaroa, Illinois, the daugher of Ezekiel and Anna (Coover) Thompson.

She was married November 28, 1907 to Walter J. Cowger, who preceded her in death May 8, 1934.

Mrs. Cowger was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church and was a charter member of the Happy Circle Club.

She is survived by one son, Harry A. Cowger of Silver Springs, Maryland; two daughters, Mrs. Katharine Medders of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Dorothy Kelley of Peoria, Illinois; a brother, Charles J. Thompson of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter."
