WILLIAM GALE CRAWFORD William Gale CRAWFORD of Spring Garden died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2008 at Stonbridge Living Center in Benton A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, with Elder Ralph ROCKETT, officiating. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Kirk Cemetery Association and will be accepted at the Funeral Home. He was born Jan 14, 1915 in Jefferson County to Luther Edward and Zola Josephine (SPURLOCK) CRAWFORD and he married Ruthella (WILLIAMS) CRAWFORD on Oct 7, 1940 in Ina. He was a Vetern of WWII and a retired farmer. He was know affectionally as "Papa" to his family, he was a kind and gentel man, whose favorite time included, playing music, working crossword puzzles and reading books to his Great grandchildren and going on four-wheeler rides and taking care of the farm. He is survived by his wife, Ruthella of Benton, son-in-law, David STIFF and wife Tonya of Mt. Vernon and granddaughter Nancy (Jim) MONTGOMERY of Opdyke and two great granddaughters, Anessa and Samantha MONTGOMERY. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Marth STIFF, two brothers and two sisters.
