Nancy Ann (Cochran) Dodson Cremeens

Nancy Ann CREMEENS, wife of John D. CREMEENS of 1020 South 6th Street died at 10 a.m. today at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 21 days.

She is survived by her husband, a step-daughter, Mrs. Dora ROBINSON of Alton, Ill., three sisters, Mrs. Eunice WHITE, Mrs. Clyde FICKLE of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Cecil MANIS of Ewing; three brothers, Charles COCHRAN of Bloomington, Jess COCHRAN of Pontiac, Ill., Frank COCHRAN of Ina; a brother Burl COCHRAN of Bloomington preceded her in death October 6, 1944.

She was married to Robert DODSON who died in 1936 (1937).

Mrs. CREMEENS was born January 6, 1873 in Jefferson County to Rush and Ann (CRAWFORD) COCHRAN.

Funeral services will be held at Myers Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday and burial will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel.

John Cremeens, 77, Dies at Rural Home Saturday

John D. Cremeens died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at his home on RFD 4, Mt. Vernon, at the age of 77 years, six months and 21 days.

Mr. Cremeens, a farmer, had been in failing health for the past two years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Pulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bayne Wilson officiating, and burial will be in Macedonia cemetery. The body will remain at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call.

Mr. Cremeens was born March 1, 1875 in Tennessee, the son of William and Margaret (Johnson) Cremeens.

He was first married to Virgie Lee Randolph, who preceded him in death.

On June 19, 1946 he was married to Nellie Griggs Hicks, who survives.

Mr. Cremeens was a member of the Methodist church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Dora Robinson of East St. Louis; two step-daughters, Mrs. Fred B. Taylor of Wood River and Mrs. Allene Huber of Carmi; two stepsons, William and Virgil Hicks of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
