Winona Crosno, Former Resident, Dies; Rites Here Mrs. Winona (Wells) Crosno, 79, died Thursday morning at 3:30 o'clock at Memorial Hospital in San Bernadino, Calif., following an illness of two months. Funeral Services for Mrs. Crosno, a former Mt. Vernon resident, are to be held Sunday afternoon, August 24, at 2:30 o'clock at Pulley's Chapel. The Rev. Dester E. Pifer will officiate, and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call after six o'clock Saturday evening. Mrs. Crosno was born in Shiloh township, February 24, 1879, the daughter of the late B. C. and Nancy (Jones) Wells. On December 31, 1891, she married A. C. Crosno, who died September 29, 1955 at their home in Yucapia, Calif., where Mrs. Crosno had since resided. Survivors include a number of cousins from this area. Mrs. Crosno was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Mrs. Cora (Wells) Hinds, who was a primary teacher in the Mt. Vernon city schools for 25 years.
