J.W. Crosnow, 84 Retired Cafe Operator, Dies J.W. Crosnow, who operated a restaurant on South Tenth St. at the L. & N. railroad intersection for many years, dies at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 20th) at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. Floyd Brooks, 415 S. 15th St. Mr. Crosnow, who was 84 years, 3 months and 26 days of age, operated a restaurant from 1907 until his retirement. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Robert Freytag will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call any time after 4:00 p.m. today. Mr. Crosnow, a lifetime resident of Jefferson county, was born April 26, 1874 in McClellan township, the son of Martin and Charlotte (Morgan) Crosnoe. He was married December 4, 1896 to Ada Bell Carpenter, who preceded him in death January 7, 1950. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Modern Woodmen of America. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. J. Floyd Brooks of this city; one son, Robert C. Crosnoe of this city; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. One son preceded him in death.
