Thomas C. Crowder
Thomas Crowder, Route 3, Dies; Service Sunday Thomas C. Crowder, 83, Route 3, Mt. Vernon, died at 5:39 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Myers Chapel with the Rev. Everett LeMay officiating. Friends may call at the Myers Chapel after 4 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Crowder was born March, 5. 1883, at Belle Rive, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Crowder. He was married Nov. 22, 1933 at Mt. Vernon to Edith Sheradine who died in 1951. Mrs. (sic.) Crowder was a retired welder at the Mt. Vernon Car Co. where he was employed for 49 years. Survivors include: one son, Charles Crowder of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Roberson of Route 3, Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Nora Bowser of Coachella, Calif.; one brother, Dick Crowder of Wood River; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Three sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
