Ruth A. Dalby, 90, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at her residence in Mt. Vernon.

She was born in Gridley on May 17, 1919, a daughter of George O. and Rose E. (North) Foreman.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Revs. Bud Storey and Mark Byars officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Jefferson County. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dalby is survived by her husband, Donald W. Dalby of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Judith A. Williams of Mt. Vernon, Janet S Byars and husband Edgar of Texico, and Joyce Richardson and husband Kenneth of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, Lori McGovern and husband Kevin of Mt. Vernon, Ryan Richardson of Mt. Vernon, Mark Byars and wife Becky of McLeansboro, Dee Allen of Florissant, Mo., Gary Williams and wife Eileen of Woodlawn and James Williams and wife Vonna of West Chester, Ohio; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Letsinger of El Paso (Illinois).

Her parents, one brother, four sisters and a son-in-law preceded her in death.
