Sibyl Darnell Of Bonnie Died At Age 81

Sibyl F. Darnell, 81, Bonnie, died 12:25 p.m. Jan 31, 1990, at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood.

Mrs. Darnell was born April 28, 1908, in Waltonville, a daughter of George E. and Frances C. (Veach) Jones.

July 29, 1931, she married Floyd Skidmore, who died May 19, 1961.

March 3, 1963, in Mt. Vernon, she married Tommie J. Darnell who died Nov. 21 1984.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Prince officiating. Burial will follow in South Hickory Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Darnell is survived by three sons, Morris Lee Skidmore and wife, Teresa, of Maywood, Marvin Skidmore and wife, Phyllis, of Independence, Kan., and Donald Skidmore and wife, Burline, of Opdyke; one daughter, Mrs. Calvin (Glenda) Smith of Waco, Texas; one stepson, Loyd Darnell and wife, Sharon, of McLeansboro; two step-daughters, Mrs. Steve (Lois) Huse of Gilman and Elsie Darnell of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Darnell was a member Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, five sisters and one grandson, Jonathan Skidmore.
