Billy Joe Davis, 18, of Belle Rive died 4:41 p.m. Nov. 7, 2005, at his home. He was a Rend Lake College Student.

Mr. Davis was born Aug. 6, 1987, in Mt. Vernon to Fred Samuel Davis Jr. and Nancy Lou (Trotter) Davis.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren. The Revs. Jeremy Hamson and Charles McCormick will officiate. Burial will follow at Lowrey Hill Cemetery near Dahlgren. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren.

Mr. Davis is survived by his father, Fred Samuel Davis Jr. of Mt. Vernon; his mother, Nancy Davis of Belle Rive; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Betty Trotter of Belle Rive; his maternal great-grandfather, Albert Irvin of Belle Rive; a sister, Amber Nicole Davis of Belle Rive; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Davis was a Protestant by faith. He was a member of FFA. He was a 2005 graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School. He was a member of a bow fishing organization.
