Sharon E. Davis, 74, of Mt. Vernon, died 10:22 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was born Thursday Dec. 2, 1937, in Mt. Vernon, daughter of Berthold and Evelyn (Gammon) Borden.

She married Charles Robert “Bob” Davis on Sept. 4, 1955, in Mt. Vernon and he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2005.

Sharon was the co-owner of South Side Drug for twelve years, worked as a manager and in sales for Marco Pharmacy and Medicare Glaser. She was a member of Boyd Christian Church, the Elks Lodge of Mt. Vernon, the moose Lodge of Mt. Vernon and the Y.M.C.A.

She is survived by daughters, Christie J. Bond of Mt. Vernon and Lynn A Schorfheide and Husband Bill of St. Peters, Mo.; grandchildren, Kati Bond of Mt. Vernon, Erin Bond of Glen Carbon, Maggie Bond of Mt. Vernon, Paul Bond of Springfield, Lauren Curry of St. Peters, Mo. And Ryan Schorfheide of St. Peters, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Olivia Burns of Mt. Vernon, Caleah Burns of Mt. Vernon, Carter Burns of Mt. Vernon and Londyn Bond of Mt. Vernon; nieces, Donna Dare and husband Dennis of Swansea and Laura Vladetich and husband Mike of Mt. Vernon; and four great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Barbara White.

Funeral service will be head 10 a.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Mr. Jason Poznich officiating. Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
