Will P. Davis Dies at Age 83; Funeral Friday Will P. Davis died at 7:25 last night at his home, 1215 Cherry street, 13 days after observing his 83rd birthday. Mr. Davis, a section worker on the L. S. N. Railroad for 39 years, retired in 1936. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p. m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Bird Green will officiate and burial will he in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time after 4:00 p. m. Thursday. Mr. Davis was born February 12, 1870 in Hamilton county, the son of Fred and Eliza (Wright) Davis. He had been a resident of Jefferson county for the past 40 years. He was married to Cora H. Proctor, (sic.) who preceded him in death in 1940. Mr. Davis was a member of the Baptist church. He Is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Eliza Ann Beckham of Mt. Vernon, a brother, Charley Davis of Evansville and one grandchild.
