Nina B. Dees, 88, of Waltonville died 7:55 p.m. April 17, 2005, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was born Feb. 18, 1917, in McClellan Township to James and Millie (Pemberton) Jones.

She married Orland C. Dees on Oct. 1, 1938, in Morganfield, Ky.; he survives.

She was a recorder and worked in the Jefferson County clerk's office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waltonville and also a member of the Jefferson County Home Extension, United Methodist Women and a past Modern Woodmen leader.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dees is survived by two sons, Charles Dees and wife Carole of Bonnie and Ernie Dees and wife Debra of Mt. Vernon; five granddaughters, Angela Summers and husband Douglas, Shelley McDowell and husband Mitch, Twila Snow and husband Steve, Crystal Rodotz and husband Eric and Stacie Farris and husband John; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ray Jones, Nelson Jones and James Jones; and a sister, Ferne Ayers.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, with the Rev. John Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville.
