Constance Sue "Connie" Delaney, 72, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 8:01 pm March 16, 2024 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born February 23, 1952 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the late Dortha (Nickrent) Szarwinski and Arthur Szarwinski.

Connie is survived by her nephews, Lee McNealy and David Marks of Carbondale, Illinois; niece, Pamela Fox and Carl of Saint Louis, Missouri; cousin, Judy Bennett of Mattoon, Illinois; aunts, Barbara Parrott, Martina Kitowski, and Patricia Martin; and lifelong best friend, Judy Bowman.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her sister, Karen McNealy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Connie worked at Western Sizzlin' for over 20 years and then later at Subway for over 15 years in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed crafting with plastic canvas, beads, and crocheting. Connie loved her trips to Walmart and Dollar Tree. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored her.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Michael Cemetery in Radom, Illinois.

Memorials may be made in Connie's honor to Saint Michael Cemetery.
