Roscoe Denham Belle Rive War Veteran, Dead Marine Pvt. Roscoe Eugene Denham of Belle Rive, a veteran of World War II died at Great Lakes, Ill yesterday. (December 5, 1946) His age was 21 years, four months and 12 days. (born July 25, 1923) Details of his death were not learned here. ("blow on head by an iron gate post which was sheared off when struck by a truck") (death certificate) The body will be brought to Mt. Vernon where it will be received by Myers Funeral Service. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Pvt. Denham served for three years in the U.S. Marines during World War II and re-enlisted about four months ago. He is the son of Fred and Martha Ellen (Neibel) Denham of Belle Rive. Surviving, besides his parents, are four brothers, Harry, Harvey, Vernon and Herbert, all of Belle Rive; three sisters, Mrs. Matthew (Daisy) Kehrer and Mrs. Arthur (Laura) Schlag of Belle Rive and Mrs. Norman (Roberta) Jones of Opdyke.

Roscoe Eugene Denham, 21, of Belle Rive, who died last Thursday at Great Lakes, Ill were held at 1:30 p.m. today at Sugar Camp Church, near Belle Rive. Pvt. Denham, a World War II veteran, who re-enlisted four months ago, was the son of Mr. nad Mrs. Fred Denham of Belle Rive. He served for three years with the U.S. Marines during the war.
