Thelma Pauline (Russell) Dial
Thelma Pauline Dial, 76, of Mt. Vernon died 7:40 p.m. May 3, 2005, at Nature Trail Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Dial was born Jan. 23, 1929, in Jefferson County to Marshall and Ethel (Pigg) Russell. She married Daniel Lee Dial Jan. 12, 1964; he died in 1990. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Hopewell Cemetery in Jefferson County, with interment to follow. The Rev. Bill Miller will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Dial is survived by a daughter, Connie L. Lipe and husband Gary A. of Mt. Vernon; a son, Monty Dial and wife Mary of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert D. Hicks; two brothers; and three sisters. Mrs. Dial was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and was a Baptist by faith. For those who wish, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital or to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
