Jemima Diel

Jemima DIEL was born in Jackson County, Tennessee on September 4, 1823. She died November 24, 1920 and was aged 97 years, 2 months & 20 days. She was married to Hasting A. DIEL, September 25, 1848, who died in March 1862. To this union were born six children, two sons, Mr. John DIEL of Woodlawn with whom she made her home and Squire DIEL deceased, four daughters, Mrs. Laura COX who resides at Ridgeway, IL, Sarah, Melvina and Mary Elias, dying at a young age. She became blind about 15 years ago and for the last 14 months was bedfast, but she bore her suffering patiently, never complaining her last words were song and prayer. She united with the Methodist Church, when young and lived a devoted Christian life. Besides her one son and one daughter she leaves to mourn her departure, 19 grandchildren, about 40 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Source: The Register News - Mt.
