William Henry Dirden, 82 of 2920 Myrtle Avenue,succombed to infirmities at 1:30 am today at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he had been a patient one month. He had been in failing health for the past eight months.

Dirden, a former salesman, retired upon moving to Granite City 14 years ago. He remained in Granite City until this fall, when he moved to the home of his son, Orville Dirden in Nameoki. He was a native of Mount Vernon, Ill.

Besides his son here he leaves another son, Harry Dirden of Collinsville, One sister Cora Perrin of East St. Louis; and two grandchildren. His remains were taken to a local funeral home where services will be held Monday afternoon, Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Belleville.
