Mary L. Dodson
Mrs. W. T. Dodson, aged 78 years, died at 12:45 o'clock last night at the home of her son, George at Irvington, Ill. Mrs. Dodson was a native of Tennessee, but practically all of her life had been spent in the northern part of this county, where she had many friends. Mrs. Dodson's death was due to paralysis, she having suffered four hard strokes and a number of lighter ones. She had been an invalid for the last seven years. The last stroke was sustained ----------- at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Witzell on Park Avenue in Mt. Vernon on Sunday Sept 15. Until three weeks ago, she and her husband made their home on a farm with her only brother, John west of Boyd, but about three weeks ago they went to make their home with their son at Irvington. Besides her husband, Mrs. Dodson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Rose Foutch of Salem, Ill., Mrs. Ruth Benjamin of Irvington, and Mrs. Charles Witzell of Mt. Vernon; three sons, Art of Olive Branch, Sherman of Boyd and George of Irvington, a brother John Dotson of Boyd and two sisters, Mrs. Sim Forbes of Martinville, Ill., and Mrs. John McCormick of Cravat. There will be funeral services at Irvington Friday morning at eleven o'clock conducted by Rev. F. O. Fannon, following which the body will be brought to Hopewell where there will be services at two o'clock conducted by Rev. Mooney. Burial will be at Hopewell.
