William Dorris, a retired farmer, died at 2:25 a.m. today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Yearwood, on the Richview road. His age was 72 years, one month and 10 days.

Mr. Dorris was born in Saline County on February 22, 1862, a son of Elijah and Mar Cook Dorris, and had lived here 19 years.

He was united in marriage to Nora Range, who survives.

Until five years ago, Mr. Dorris was an active farmer, but since that time he had retired.

In addition to the widow and Mrs. Yearwood, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. C. E. Roeder of Mt. Vernon, and two sons, Claude and Commodore Dorris, both of Mt. Vernon.

The body has been taken to the Myers Chapel, 122 north 10th street, where funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. J. C. Kinison will be in charge. Interment will be made at New Shiloh Cemetery.
