Laura Downen Rites Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Mae Downen, 86, will be held at 1:30 p. m. Saturday at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Floyd Hartley will officiate and burial will be in Old Baptist cemetery, near Waltonville. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. today.

Mrs. Downen, who resided with her daughter, Mrs. Grover Shaw, at 324 north Fifth street, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Phillips, of Kankakee and Mrs. Hazle Shaw of Mt. Vernon; one son, Wlllard Downen of Waltonville; and one brother, Willie Hanna of Scheller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Albert Downen, one daughter, one son and one sister.
