Ethel Dulaney, 95, of Mt. Vernon and a former resident of the Bluford area, died 6:50 a.m. Sept. 14, 1999, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.

She was a registered nurse, and was a U.S. Army nurse and captain for 14 years, from May 24, 1945, to Feb. 28, 1959.

She was born Feb. 14, 1904, in Jefferson County to William L. and Ida Mae (Lathrop) Dulaney.

She never married.

Scripture and prayer service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial will be at East Hickory Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include one sister, Hazel Creamer of Minnesota, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters.
