Betty Louise (Wilkey) Dycus
Betty Louise Dycus, 75, of Salem and formerly of Waltonville died 9:10 a.m. July 28, 2006, at Doctors Health & Rehabilitation Center in Salem. Ms. Dycus was born March 1, 1931, in Belle Rive, a daughter of Nathan and Estella (Payne) Wilkey. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Waltonville. Ms. Dycus is survived by two sons, Robert Dycus and wife Nina and Kevin Todd Dycus, both of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, LeAnn and husband James Johnson and Amy and husband Jeff Scarbough, both of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Beverly and husband Don Kelly of Dahlgren; two brothers, Jackie Wilkey and wife Veronica of Tennessee and Bobby Wilkey of Tallahassee, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Graveside funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, with Jim Dycus Officiating. Ms. Dycus is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eddie Dycus; three brothers; and two sisters. For those who wish, memorials may be given to Knob Prairie Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Newell Funeral Home, 2707 North St., Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
