Melvin Edward Elliston
Melvin Edward Elliston of Plano, Illinois died suddenly at 3:30 am today in the home of his brother, Jerry Elliston, of near Waltonville, where he was visiting. He was 46 years, five months and 26 days of age. He was a member of the Christian Church of Boyd, where the funeral will be held Friday at 2 pm. Mr. Elliston was a farmer. He was born February 20, 1904 to Nelvin and Eva (Isom) Elliston and was united in marriage to the former Lora May Piercy. Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Violet Minott, Mrs. Vivan Cole, Mrs. Norma Minott, all of aurora, ILL. Mrs. Fay Pyle of Chicago; seven brothers, Orville and James of Chicago, William of Centralia, Charles and Jerry of Waltonville, John of Oklahoma and Tom of Tennessee; three sisters, Mrs. May Adams of Chicago, Mrs. Jesse DeWitt of Arizona and Thelma Elliston; two step-brothers, Lawrence and Julian Loman. Four grandchildren also survive. The body will lie in state at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix after noon tomorrow.
