Jesse T. England
Jesse T. ENGLAND, 58, 728 N.th St.,Mt. Vernon, died 8:51 a.m. December 7, 1989, at his home. Mr. England was a concrete-mason finisher. He was born March 8, 1931, in Jefferson Co., IL, a son of William Burton and Mary Margaret (Chamness) England. On December 22, 1951, he maried Mildred Brown who died on June 18, 1986. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Rudolph Schlag officiating. Burial will follow in Old Shiloh Cemetary. Mr. England is survived by four brothers, William England and wife, Velma, Charles England and wife, Doris, Donald England and wife, Phyllis, all of Mt. Vernon, and Robert England and wife Peggy of Woodlawn; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Mary Ellen) Phillips of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Gene (Glenda) Kohute of Nason; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. England was a member of East Side Baptist Church where he was chairman of accounting committee, an usher, Sunday School teacher, assistant treasurer and trustee. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, the Rev. Allen England and Jerry Max England.
