Walter S. FARLOW, a Christian Church minister and retired school teacher, died suddenly at 11:30 o'clock last night at his home, 541 S. 24th Street. He was 69 years, eight months, and 11 days of age. He was preparing to retire for the night when he was stricken with a heart attack.

Mr. FARLOW was a teacher in the rural schools for 47 years. After his retirement from the teaching profession four years ago, he pastored several Christian churches. At the time of his death he was pastor of the Union Church near Ashley and the Seven Mile Church near Carmi.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Church of Christ. Edwin HAYDEN, the pastor will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will remain at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call at any time after 10 a.m. Friday. At noon Saturday the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour.

Mr. FARLOW was born April 22, 1881 in Spring Garden Twp., the son of Silas and Malinda (REDMAN) FARLOW.

He was married to Madge COLLINS, who survives.

He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Mark W. of Wilmington, Ill., R. Victor of Chicago and Allen W. of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Newton BROWN of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Newton WHIPPLE of Glenco, Ill., and Mrs. Herbert TOWNES, Jr., of Patuxent River Naval Station, Maryland; one sister, Mrs. O. H. McNEW of Mt. Vernon; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
