Geneva (Brewer) Farmer
Geneva Farmer, 78, of Mt. Vernon died 2:20 a.m. Oct. 31, 2005, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Farmer was born May 7, 1927, in Auburn, Ark., to Edrett and Lovie (Harrison) Brewer. She married Jack Farmer June 1, 1954, in Mt. Vernon; he preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at Jackson Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Val Powe will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at Jackson Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Farmer is survived by daughters Debra Safee-Ullah of South Holland, Vivian West of Mt. Vernon and Kathy Farmer of Los Angeles, Calif; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandson. Mrs. Farmer was a member of Blackwell Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, the Missionary Society, the Deaconess Board, the Trustee Board and Queen City Court of Calanthe 27. She also served as an usher.
