Michael Farthing
Michael FARTHING died at his home a mile and a half north of Ina last Thursday at the age of 66y2m5d. He had been employed by the State at the Kankakee State Hospital during the past three years. He had been in failing health several weeks previous to his death. Mr. FARTHING was a native of this township (Spring Garden) and most of his life has been spent here. He has served as constabel and Deputy Sheriff and was fearless in perforning his duties. Mr. FARTHING was a member of Masonic Fraternity. He is survived by his widow, who was formerly Rosa HARMON, and one daughter, Ada Lee LIZZKIEWCZ of St. Louis, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. Also two brothers, Harvey FARTHING and Wm. E. FARTHING and one half brother, Jesse FARTHING; all of Bonnie and one step sister, Mrs. Minnie BLEEKS of Mt. Vernon. Funeral was held at the home Saturday. Services were conducted by Rev. W. R. BURTON assisted by the Masonic Lodge. Burial was at the Kirk Cemetery. Note: (calculated birth date - December 4, 1871)
