Frank Evans Faulkner
Frank Evans Faulkner, 81, of Mt. Vernon died midnight Nov. 5, 2005, at Nature Trail Healthcare Center in Mt. Vernon. He was a sales manager of Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Faulkner was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Jefferson County to Frank Leslie and Oma (Luke) Faulkner. He married Dorothy A. (Johnson) Faulkner Dec. 24, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.; she survives. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Merle Fullerton will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, with military flag presentation by the chaplain of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141. Mr. Faulkner is survived by his wife, Dorothy Faulkner of Mt. Vernon; a son, Steven J. Faulkner and wife Jodi of Dewey, Okla.; daughters Elaine F. Albritton and husband Hugh of New Port Richey, Fla., and Valerie D. Piercy and husband Scott of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, Cody and Kaylee Champ and Nicholas, Mallory and Victoria Faulkner; a great-grandchild, Alexis Austin; a brother, Charles A. Faulkner and wife Peggy of Neptune, N.J.; a sister, Hilda Blair of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothea Faulkner of Mt. Vernon and Eileen Faulkner of Indianapolis, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jerry E. Faulkner; three brothers, Kenneth, Keith and Harry Faulkner; and two sisters, Mable Williams and Joyce Lovin. Mr. Faulkner was a very faithful man. He spent his life teaching Bible classes and was a deacon for over 40 years; was the church financial secretary; was currently a member of Logan Street Baptist Church; and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II from March 1943 to February 1946 who fought in the South Pacific. He loved traveling in the U.S. Hawaii and Europe. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Logan Street Baptist Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer's research and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
