James L. Faulkner
James L. Faulkner, 67, of Waltonville died 12:25 a.m. March 7, 2005, at his home in rural Waltonville, with friends and family by his side. He was born July 23, 1937, in rural Dahlgren to Leslie and Gleness (Parrish) Faulkner. He married Rosemary (Bean) Faulkner Oct. 8, 1960, at Marcoe Church in rural Mt. Vernon. He was owner/operator of a trucking business. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean era. He was a member of First Church of God in Mt. Vernon. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; three daughters, Tammy Jeffries and husband Mike of Sesser, Rhonda Wiegel and husband Chris of Texico and Misty Faulkner and fiancé Charles Ebert of Ashley; a special son, Walter Allen Gustafson and wife Joyce of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Nicole and Michael Jeffries, Christin, Sean and J.J. Wiegel and special grandchildren Dustin, Felicia and Christopher Gustafson; two sisters, Gleness Walker and Carolyn Nichols, both of Chicago; a sister-in-law, Rosalie Faulkner of Mt. Vernon; and beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and William Faulkner. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of God, 1000 N. 42nd St. in Mt. Vernon, with the Rev. Dwain E. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Rightnowar Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and from 10 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the church.
