Jacob Otto Fields

Jacob Otto Fields was born March 07, 1851, and was married to Miss Josephine Tyler, on March 14, 1871.

He was converted in the year 1885 and united with the M E Church, South, in which he lived an acceptable member until his death, December 27, 1892.

He was crushed with a mass of falling slate in his room in the Odin mines. He was 37 years old.

The funeral of Bro. Fields and the little daughter Lula, age one year, were both preached at the Baptist church, two miles south of Rome, Illinois, by Rev. W H Cunningham, Pastor of th M. E. Church, South, December 29, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Limestone Cemetery.

The bereaved family have the heart-felt sympathy of the writer. W.H.C.
