Helen M. (Johnson) Firebaugh
Funeral services for Helen M. Firebaugh, 92, 805 S. 27th, Street, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hughey Funeral Home with J. Howard Kraps officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ and will be accepted at the funeral home. Mrs. Firebaugh died at 2:12 a.m. on Saturday and was dead on arrival at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born in Sidell on January 24, 1893, the daughter of Heney J. and Louise (Muller) Johnson. (Johnsen). On July 1st, 1914, in Urbana, she married Creighton C. Firebaugh, who preceded her in death April 15, 1976. Survivors include two sons, Max C. Firebaugh of Mt. Vernon and Henry J. Firebaugh of Buffalo, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. James (Lucinda Ellen) Cummins of Geneva, New York; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Firebaugh was a member of the Central Church of Christ since 1911 and is a lifetime member of the Jefferson County Home Extension. She was a former schoolteacher and taught Bible school at the church for several years. She was also a member of the Home Builders class at the Central Church of Christ. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
